A 99-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle in Brooklyn on Saturday evening while he was crossing the street in a motorized mobility scooter, police said.
The accident happened around 4:45 p.m. Saturday in Manhattan Beach when the man, traveling on Coleridge Street, was hit by a vehicle driving on Oriental Boulevard as he tried to cross, cops said.
The elderly man was transported to Coney Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
It’s not clear how fast the driver was going at the time of the accident, police said, however photos show the scooter was not significantly damaged.
