Mayor Eric Adams on Tuesday proposed a $99.7 billion budget that he said is aimed at boosting jobs and public safety as the city’s economic recovery from Covid-19 lags the rest of the nation.
“It all comes down to this: safety, jobs, schools and housing,” Adams said during a speech at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn.
The plan marks the first post-pandemic budget for the city that will not have the help of billions in federal stimulus aid.
