By the time summer is over this year, New York City’s offices likely will be half-full on any given weekday, as hopes of a full return meet the reality of long-term hybrid schedules.
About 49% of Manhattan office workers are expected in their seats even after Labor Day, according to the latest survey of 160 major employers by The Partnership for New York City. The projection solidifies the permanence of flexible work patterns even as the Covid-19 pandemic settles into the background of the city.
Employers replied to the survey between April 21 and May 4.
