Mayor Eric Adams and City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams announced a handshake agreement on a $101 billion budget for the fiscal year that begins July 1.
The mayor gave his blessing on a budget agreement with the speaker Friday afternoon at City Hall, where they both spoke from the rotunda and confirmed that a deal is in place. The $101 billion budget is substantially higher than the mayor’s preliminary $98.5 billion budget proposed in February and includes increased investments for parks, affordable housing capital plans and early child care services.
