Vestre launches TELLUS – a fossil-free steel bench

Steel is one of society’s most essential materials and is crucial to everything Vestre creates. Despite its strength, steel production has always had a weakness: its climate impact. Steel accounts for 7–9% of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions. In response, Vestre created the world’s first furniture from fossil-free steel—TELLUS. Many people wonder if fossil-free steel is as strong, and we confidently say it’s even better. The steel is as strong as always, and the production processes have strengthened, reflecting Vestre’s commitment to investing in a brighter, more sustainable future.

TELLUS has about 75% lower carbon emissions than a comparable bench made from traditional steel.
