Today, NYC mayor Bill de Blasio announced that later this month vaccines will be required in New York City indoor spaces such as restaurants, entertainment venues, and gyms. The city is calling the mandate the “Key to NYC Pass” and is requiring at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine in order to enter a public indoor space. The plan will begin on August 16; after a transition period, the city will begin enforcement on September 13.
The mayor called the mandate a “first-in-the-nation approach.”
