Broadway legend Patti LuPone — who created the role of Norma Desmond in “Sunset Blvd.” in London in 1993 — gave a glowing review to the Broadway revival starring Nicole Scherzinger and Tom Francis after attending a performance Wednesday night.
“I loved this production,” LuPone told NY1’s Frank DiLella. “I thought Nicole and Tom were stunning. I thought Nicole was unbelievable. She broke my heart. She is a force.”
LuPone also praised the cast, the lighting and the use of filming.
“This worked brilliantly. The whole thing,” she said. “I was energized when I left the theater. I loved it.”
