Next year’s 76th annual Tony Awards will take place at the United Palace in Washington Heights for the first time, the awards show announced on Tuesday.
The United Palace, which opened in 1930, is Manhattan’s fourth-largest theater, with nearly 34,000 seats, the release said.
According to the release, the venue houses concerts, movie premieres and film shoots, and is also known for supporting the neighborhood by showcasing work from local artists.
