In connection to the September 2023 shooting incident involving a woman in Bellevue, detectives from the Bellevue Police Department successfully apprehended two suspects. The incident took place at approximately 2:30 a.m. on September 9, 2023, in the 4100 block of 146th Avenue Southeast.
Responding to the scene, law enforcement found a 38-year-old woman with a gunshot wound that grazed her head but did not penetrate the skull. Fortunately, the injury was not life-threatening, and the victim promptly called 911. Emergency medical services transported her to Harborview Medical Center, where she received treatment for a few hours before being released.
After an intensive two-month investigation, Bellevue PD arrested a 16-year-old Mexican national at the 9800 block of Avondale Road Northeast in Redmond. The individual, possessing an extensive arrest record, was found in possession of a polymer 80 “ghost gun” matching the firearm used in the shooting. The 16-year-old suspect faces charges of first-degree assault and is currently held on $500,000 bail at the King County Youth Center.
Witnesses reported that a a group of friends were “hanging out” at a residence on 2nd Street in Bellevue. The 16-year-old suspect, described as a part-time friend of some of the attendees, offered them a joyride. Witnesses indicated that the suspect had occasional interactions with the teens at the party.
Allegedly, the group decided to visit a residence to “harass and spray paint” a vehicle belonging to a teen named “Nick,” who was previously involved in an altercation with one of the boys at the party. The incident occurred weeks earlier when “Nick” reportedly jumped one of the boys while he was at work at Macy’s.
According to witness statements, upon arriving at the Bellevue home in the 4100 block of 146th Avenue Southeast, the 16-year-old unexpectedly brandished a polymer 80 “ghost gun” and fired indiscriminately into the home, striking a woman in the head. None of the teens in the car were aware that the suspect had a gun or intended to use it.
In addition to the primary suspect, a second teen, identified as Tristan L Fischer and the host of the party, was also arrested. This arrest was made under Washington State’s “Accomplice liability” law. Fischer is booked into the King County Jail on charges of first-degree assault and is being held on $500,000 bail. Despite a search of Fischer’s residence, no evidence related to the incident was discovered.
Currently, three other individuals are being sought in connection to the shooting. The Bellevue Police Department has assured the community that there is no ongoing danger and believes the shooting to be a targeted event.
