Porsche has set a new electric car lap record at the Nurburgring, beating the Tesla Model S Plaid by three seconds around the 12.92 mile circuit.
A Taycan Turbo S driven by Porsche development driver Lars Kern completed a lap of the German track in 7min 33.3sec, beating tesla’s time of 7min 35.6sec, which was set last year.
Porsche says the car was fitted with its new performance kit and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), and aside from the mandatory roll cage and racing seats was a completely standard, street-legal car. The company also said how the Taycan Turbo S used to set the record weighs
