The Rocket Mortgage Classic begins Thursday, and the fourth edition at Detroit Country Club is positioned on the schedule just two weeks ahead of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. That has brought some top-ranked players to the motor city for a final tune-up ahead of the big money playoff events.
The PGA Tour also announced Tuesday in a memo to the players that it will move to a “soft’’ top 125 points list in order to determine qualifiers for the FedEx Cup points playoffs.
So with more at stake, the PGA Tour tournaments starting this week at Detroit Country Club and next week at Sedgefield
