An NYPD detective and a suspect were shot on Staten Island during a drug bust early Thursday, according to police sources and officials.
Police were executing a search warrant at an address on Rockne Street between Ellwood Avenue and Villa Nova Street in Heartland Village around 6 a.m. when Nelson Pizarro, 39, apparently fired through a bedroom door, striking narcotics Detective Dominick Libretti in the right leg, authorities and sources said.
Cops fired back at Pizarro — who was not the target of the warrant — hitting him in the leg, according to the sources.
A tourniquet was used on Libretti, and he was taken to Staten
