Fallen real estate lawyer Mitchell Kossoff was sentenced to 13 ½ years in prison, the maximum sought by the Manhattan district attorney’s office, after taking nearly $15 million from clients.
Kossoff pleaded guilty in New York County Supreme Court to charges of grand larceny in the first, second and third degrees, and scheming to defraud in the first degree. He admitted to stealing money from 35 clients to cover the rent on his $19,000-a-month apartment and other personal expenses.
