iMentor CEO on helping students learn the importance of who you know

As Heather Wathington approaches her one-year anniversary as CEO of the nonprofit iMentor, she is getting a glimpse at how she can help the organization have a bigger impact. For the 2021-22 school year, iMentor connected 10,000 public high school students, many from communities where a majority will be first-generation college graduates, to mentors; 3,000 pairs are in New York. Wathington is working to deeply integrate her company with companies in New York City (iMentor is in 14 states altogether). The organization is now focused on expanding the one-on-one partnerships to help guide mentees into internships and careers.
