Workers at Kickstarter, headquartered in Greenpoint, Brooklyn have ratified their first collective bargaining agreement with their employer, marking the latest win by a tech union in the city.
The contract applies to 46 members of Kickstart United, which is affiliated with Local 53 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union. The contract eliminates geographic pay adjustments, which gives different salaries for remote workers in similar roles depending on where they live. It also guarantees raises, creates grievance procedures, and allows workers to take additional paid time off if they work more than their normal hours.
