Five years into building a digital learning application for children and one year into the pandemic, Lower Manhattan-based Begin Learning has acquired Little Passports, its third children-focused acquisition in six months. The acquisition strategy is Begin’s shot at becoming the leader in a segment of the education technology sector that had been relatively neglected until 2020: early learning.
Thanks to remote school, parents and policymakers realized that not all learning takes place in institutions, said Neal Shenoy, Begin’s chief executive officer and co-founder.
“We think this public awareness shift will create a huge tidal wave of an opportunity for early learning,” he said.
