Shuttered Princeton Club plans to permanently lay off 99 employees

The Princeton Club, a social club for alumni of Princeton University and other institutions including New York University, plans to lay off all 99 employees pending the sale of its mortgage note.

The club, which was founded in 1886 by the Princeton Alumni Association, on Nov. 23 filed a notice with the state of its plans for layoffs, citing the economic downturn caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. A spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for additional comment.
