In 2018, online reservations platform, Resy, launched The Women of Food campaign, to celebrate, honor and uplift female chefs, restaurant owners and operators. It was also a response to the systematic inequities towards women in the food and beverage industry, where only 33% of independent restaurants are owned by women (according to the National Restaurant Association), and only 20% hold head chef positions.
