Devon Allman and Duane Betts have announced 20 dates for the 10th annual Allman Betts Family Revival Tour, including three New York stops at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, the Beacon Theatre in Manhattan and The Paramount in Huntington.
The sons of Allman Brothers Band founding members Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts will lead the all-star lineup. Presented in partnership with Gibson, the nationwide tour kicks off November 28 in St. Louis, Missouri, under the banner “A Decade of Revival.” The lineup includes performances from the Allman Betts Band, Robert Randolph, Sierra Hull, Judith Hill, Andy Frasco, Luther Dickinson, Jimmy Hall, Steel Beans, Larry McCray, Cody Dickinson, Alex Orbison and Abby Stachschmidt.
What began in 2017 as a celebration of Gregg Allman’s 70th birthday has evolved into an annual tribute to the Allman Brothers Band’s enduring songbook. Over the past decade, the Allman Betts Family Revival has united musicians from blues, rock, Americana and country, while carrying the band’s improvisational spirit into the next generation.
Each performance will unfold across two sets, taking audiences through distinct chapters of the Allman Brothers Band’s history. The first will draw primarily from the band’s groundbreaking 1970s catalog, revisiting the songs that established its signature blend of blues, rock and improvisation. The second set will highlight material from the band’s later period and its renewed momentum in the 1990s.
The format also leaves room for the Revival’s rotating lineup to put its own stamp on the material. Rather than simply reproducing the original recordings, the musicians can stretch, reinterpret and build on familiar songs, reflecting the improvisational spirit that has long defined the Allman Brothers Band.
