And throughout Bleth’s pregnancy, she has prioritized buying things that she’ll be able to wear long after her bump disappears. “These pants have been, and will continue to be, my go-to when I need of something structured and cute, but also incredibly comfortable,” she says.

Global digital director Arati Menon‘s travel rule is simple: Pick clothes that have room to stretch or settle into (she’s notorious for pretzeling her body into a tight economy seat). “Comfort doesn’t have to be at odds with style—I like to play with form and volume, and these balloon pants do just the trick.” According to Menon, who gets plenty of compliments on them in the airport, the pair is perfect with an oversized cotton or poplin shirt (Arket and Dissh are her favorites) and perhaps a more fitted ribbed tank.

I’m no stranger to Just Black Denim. With a fair price point, spruced up stretchy denim, and versatile styles, the brand has been one of my favorites since first introduced to me two years ago. These are one of the newer pairs I love for short flights, days that turn into nights out, and weekend road trips from NYC. While the high-waisted style sometimes leads the fabric to ride up (hence why they are better for short flights), they are more comfortable and stretchy than every other pair of high-waisted pants I own. You can’t go wrong with its classic light wash color, and the fact that they fold down super thin is such a satisfying win. As a 5’3″ girlie, finding jeans that elongate your legs is rare. But when I pair these with a slight platform Chelsea boot? Instant legs for days. I’ve already gotten so many compliments on them.

Loved and recommended by commerce editor Meaghan Kenny, she says the pants are basically pajamas masked in a dark-wash denim design complete with a stylish cuffed hem. Made from a soft, organic cotton blend—they have just the right amount of stretch while maintaining a flattering lift and hold. “They’re very long (as you’d expect from a Scandi brand, frankly)—but as a result, deliver a nice leg-elongating silhouette that works equally for Pilates as long travel days,” says Ward. One of her favorite features is the folded waistband, which can be adjusted (and according to Ward, cradles your stomach gently for an enhancing effect), not to mention the subtle embroidered detail that coyly completes the look. “These are the ultimate comfy-but-still-smart choice—I’ve even worn them to the office, and received compliments on them at that,” says Ward.

Set Active’s Luxform leggings have been a longtime favorite of Kenny’s: “They’re seriously the most buttery-soft yet compressive pair I’ve ever worn,” she says. She first got her hands on the straight-leg version earlier these year, and they’ve since become her go-to travel pant. “I’ve worn them on early morning flights, long hours driving in the car, and most recently, during a 10-hour delay at the airport,” says Kenny. “They look just as a good with a crewneck or plain white tee for a travel day as they do with a sports bra for a yoga class.” What she loves most is how smoothing they are—according to Kenny, they hug you in all the right places while still giving room to stretch. And while the straight-leg fit makes them feel a little more elevated than a regular pair of leggings, their comfort level is reportedly just the same.
