While clothes and bags are often buzzed about during Fashion Week, so very often it’s the shoes that steal the show. That same ethos courses through the world of street style, where statement footwear can often attract the lenses of enterprising photogs. This season we saw the continuation of flat-soled styles; ballerinas, derbies, and Vans’ timeless slip-ons helped our sharply-dressed street stylers navigate Europe’s cobblestoned streets with aplomb (though Vogue Australia editor-in-chief Christine Centenera says she can handle any type of road in a heel). In New York, kitten-heeled thongs and Marni’s lace-up slingbacks were de rigueur. Not all red shoes, when clicked three times, bring you home, but the allure of a ruby slipper was on full display this season. Outside of the Louvre, Blackpink’s Lisa and the Haim sisters showed off wedges (!), their horizontal triangles a complement to I. M. Pei’s Pyramid. We smell a revival.
Below, the standout styles favored by the most stylish fashion show attendees of the spring 2027 season.
