designboom shop drop: beyond the wall
The designboom shop introduces its next curated drop, presenting creative objects and bespoke surfaces designed to bring vertical planes to life. Shifting focus toward vertical boundaries, the release gathers wall accents, kinetic paper mobiles, dynamic timepieces, and tactile murals that transform blank walls into expressive, characterful canvases.
Transform walls through movement, form, and texture on designboom shop:
Name: Mybird
Studio: ilsangisang
Price: from $10
Conceived as an emotional biophilic companion object, Mybird by South Korean Studio ilsangisang draws on iconic birds of luck, happiness, and hope — including the korean magpie, bluebird, and blackbird. Fitted with integrated neodymium magnets inside its feet, the bird perches directly onto metal wall plates, appliances, or architectural hardware, securely holding notes, plant clippings, or delicate chimes in its curious, head-turned stance.
Name: V / envelope and key holder
Studio: ChiHong
Price: $55
Acting as an understated wall steward, the V / envelope and key holder by Chihong provides an elegant solution for daily post and personal essentials. Crafted from folded steel with a crisp, minimal profile, the unit mounts cleanly against the wall to cradle envelopes and keep keys organized without visual clutter.
Name: Custom Wall Mural – Ombre
Studio: Martina Banozic Textiles
Price: from $89 per sqm
Produced in the EU on premium linen or silk finishes, the Ombre bespoke wall mural by Martina Banozic Textiles softens interior boundaries with subtle chromatic transitions. Printed in repeat to custom dimensions, the textured surface seamlessly converts vast architectural walls into fluid, artistic tapestries suited for residential and hospitality environments.
Name: Kung fu time clock
Studio: whenwatch
Price: from $95
Turning standard wall timekeeping into an animated spectacle, the Kung fu time clock translates Chinese martial arts movements into dynamic clock hands. Dressed in traditional breeches, vest, and cloth shoes, the figure uses its upper body and head as the hour hand, one leg as the minute hand, and an extended leg as the constantly moving second hand — generating a completely new martial arts pose with every passing second.
Name: DIY ‘oh-mobile’ kit
Studio: ilsangisang
Price: from $20
Bringing kinetic sculpture into interior spaces, the DIY ‘oh-mobile’ kit combines surrealistic graphic illustrations with subtle ambient movement. Assembled with lightweight paper motifs, stainless steel wire, and thread, each edition — including bedtime, a windy day, the conductor, and way to work — balances gently on air currents to create dreamlike wall-adjacent motion.
Name: Custom Wall Mural – Stone
Studio: Martina Banozic Textiles
Price: from $89 per sqm
Evoking raw geological textures, the stone custom wall mural introduces rich mineral depth to bare rooms. Engineered as a non-repeating, large-format composition, the design brings the tactile presence of natural stone surfaces indoors without the weight of masonry.
