Solid Copy, the Brooklyn indie rock duo, released their latest song, “Low Tide.” Released on August 14, the song is the fourth single off the duo’s debut album, titled Forensic Manor. “Low Tide” explores the tension associated with the desire for closeness when afraid of vulnerability.
“Low Tide” is one of those songs which have the dreamlike feel, just right for being background music for a coming of age film. The shimmering guitar sound along with the rhythmic beats creates a fairy tale kind of environment for the song which is, however, made even more grounded by the presence of indie rock elements in it.
The theme of the song is “What if you’re supposed to be alone?” Solid Copy presents this theme in such a way that it is not only a fear but can also be a comfort. The feeling described in the song is the contradictory emotion where one pushes away from the person while at the same time yearning for them. Through the whole track, the tide serves as an image of emotion and taking risks by committing beyond fear.

“This song explores the inevitable feelings of doubt and fear that are inherent when cultivating – or hoping for – a meaningful connection,” the band shares.
The music is engineered by Jeff Berner at Studio G and produced by Solid Copy with Carl Saff mastering at Saff Mastering. Guitar is played by Casey Feldman while bass is played by Tom Manolakes and drums are played by Tom O’Malley.

Solid Copy features cousins Fiona and Daniel Quinn, both immersed in traditional Irish music from childhood and bringing its spirit to their compositions. Fiona has been working in film and television in production such as “Law and Order” series, “Sesame Street,” and productions by The Jim Henson Company, whereas Daniel is part of the Brooklyn indie scene of the 2010s with Cosmonaut.
The duo takes its name from the radio phrase meaning “I hear you loud and clear,”
“Low Tide” follows previous singles “Let the Good Times Rot,” “Cool Kid,” and “Like a Ghost,” and sets the stage for Forensic Manor.
