Starting September 1, a highly anticipated new documentary, Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul, will make its way to over 40 one-night-only screenings across the United States, with three New York screenings in Auburn at the Auburn Public Theater on September 12 (8 Exchange St), Manhattan at The Cutting Room on September 15 (44 E 32nd St), and Tarrytown at Tarrytown Music Hall on September 25 (13 Main St Fl 2). The film, which is an intimate and comprehensive exploration of the life, music, and legacy of the late Allman Brothers Band co-founder Gregg Allman, will be presented in performing arts centers, theaters, rock clubs, and even outdoor venues, giving fans a chance to experience the documentary on the big screen with high-fidelity sound systems.
The documentary, acclaimed by critics for its raw and honest portrayal of Allman’s journey, features rare interviews and deep dives into his triumphs, struggles, and unparalleled contributions to rock music. Directed by James Keach and produced by Michael Lehman, Allman’s longtime friend and manager, the film captures the essence of the musical icon whose influence continues to resonate with generations today. Critics have praised Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul for its depth and authenticity of the late musician.
Additionally, there will be select screenings that will feature exclusive Q&A sessions with Michael Lehman, Allman’s longtime manager, and James Keach, the film’s director. These sessions will provide audiences and fans with behind-the-scenes insights and personal anecdotes about Allman’s life and career. Additional screenings and Q&A sessions will be announced monthly, with the tour running through December 8, 2027, which would have been Allman’s 80th birthday. Organizers hope to recreate the energy of the Allman Brothers Band’s legendary live performances, allowing audiences and fans to gather with friends, enjoy refreshments, and celebrate Allman’s legacy together.

A portion of ticket sales, $2 from each ticket, will benefit the Gregg Allman Scholarship Funds or local charitable organizations dedicated to supporting live music.
