With her proclivity for oversized sunglasses and all things animal print, Jennifer Lopez fits right in in Milan.
In just 24 hours, Lopez has reminded us that, though she may be Jenny from the block, she thrives at the nexus of all things Italian fashion. Beginning with Vogue World: Milano, the singer sidled up to the front row with designer pals Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, one on each arm. Fittingly, the singer wore a black tea-length Dolce & Gabbana dress, replete with a tulle ballskirt and lace and beaded appliqués. For an additional touch of glamour, Lopez added a pair of sheer opera gloves and a resplendent necklace featuring a nearly-75-carat tourmaline from the brand’s Alta Gioielleria line.
While Lopez accepted an invitation from tennis player Lorenzo Musetti to join in the show, that wasn’t where her night ended. Later on, J.Lo stopped by Dolce & Gabbana’s Milan Fashion Week party at Cipriani in another one of the brand’s theatrical pieces. Lopez reminded us that one needn’t wear a ballskirt or a hulking tourmaline to embrace Italian drama. Over a pair of blue jeans, J.Lo wore a fringed floral duster with faux-fur burgundy cuffs and collars.
This morning, she continued her bold streak by fully committing to the leopard look. In yet another Dolce & Gabbana look, J.Lo tripled down on the pattern (which, one could argue, is a neutral!), wearing a cropped trench with a popped collar over a pair of matching shorts. And no look is complete without the matching shoes.
Be it in a ballgown or a pair of jeans, Jennifer Lopez reminds us that maximalism takes many forms—and she’s mastered all of them.
