LG and ALUFUS’ Strange Transparent OLED Display Trolley

ALUFUS is a South Korean manufacturer of aluminum furniture. (The company name is a portmanteau for Aluminum Furniture System.) They make this aluminum trolley: Down by the hubless wheel, you’ll notice something that seems out of place:The company collaborated with LG Electronics on this piece, incorporating LG’s transparent OLED signage tech into the design. “All assembly components—screws, wires, lighting—are hidden to maintain a high-end furniture aesthetic, minimizing exterior damage from display integration. Functional elements are concealed to avoid emphasizing its electronic nature, ensuring seamless integration into upscale environments.” It’s a strange piece for sure, and there’s no word on what the actual application will be.
